Suitable for the accurate testing of the running qualities of bevel
and hypoid gear and pinion pairs up to 20" (508mm)
in diameter, with shaft angles from 0 to 180 degrees
This is a first-class machine, which came out of an aerospace manufacturing
facility, where it was meticulously maintained, re-calibrated, and re-certified
on a regular basis.

Air-actuated mechanical caliper disc brake to simulate load, with automatic
torque control system capable of delivering up to 40 foot-pounds of torque,
with repeat accuracy of +/- 2 foot-pounds, with load meter
Brake-torque readout on reversible meter for either “drive”
or “coast” loading,
Manual chucking for both spindle-heads (less draw-rods and nuts)
Drive spindle bore 6”x 3/4” taper (#60) x 2-1/2” length
Brake spindle bore 3-29/32” x 39/64” taper (#39) x 3” length
Digital read-out system for display of the following:
Arrangement for angular backlash with digital read-out in radians,
indicating brake spindle angular rotation relative to the drive spindle
(backlash measured in this plane of rotation)
Arrangement for three-axis digital position readout providing visual display
of the movements used during testing, including Pinion cone sliding base (Y),
Vertical offset (V), and Gear cone brake-head adjustment (H), with all movements
displayed showing variations from the initial set-up values
One (1) pinion spindle adaptor (60 Taper down to 39 Taper)
